A businesswoman and block industry owner was yesterday kidnapped in Warri, Delta State.
Source said the woman simply identified as Pat Fueta, age 51 was seized on the Refinery road, Warri about 11 am.
This came even as dare devil armed robbery yesterday robbed a man of N700, 000 at the Robert road in Okere area of the metropolis.
Details of the incidents were still hazy as at press time yesterday but a source said that the block industry owner was whisked away while she was alighting from her car.
She was taken away by gun-wielding young men who sandwich her in-between themselves in a blue colour Camry car which they came in with, a source said.
The source said that the kidnappers abandoned the lady’s blue colour Honda car which she parked along the refinery road.
The woman had a block industry along Jakpa road of the metropolis.
When contacted on phone, State Police Public Relation Officer, Charles Muka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident saying police are on the trail of the fleeing kidnappers.
The rate of kidnapping in the metropolics has been worrisome in recent time.
The Warri and Asaba branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) had raised alarm on different occasion over series of kidnapping in the state.
The abduction of a judge, Justice Marcel Okoh few weeks ago led to the boycott of court in the state by lawyers.
Justice Okoh was release last week by his captors allegedly after payment of ransom.
Chairman of Warri NBA, Chief Gweke Akudihor and Secretary Oghenero Okoro, a lawyer had expressed dismay over the series of kidnapping in the state.
They urged the state government to take drastic actions toward addressing the scourge.
