Delta'll Support Progressive Initiatives, Says Otuaro

The Deputy Governor of Delta State Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro says the state government would continue to support initiatives that fit squarely with its policy thrust.

Otuaro spoke on Tuesday in Asaba at the launch of a  book titled "Infertility and Assisted Conception"  written by Dr. Lawrence Omo-Aghoja, an associate professor of the Delta State University.

The book was later reviewed at the event by Dr. Nicholas Azinge, Delta State Commissioner for Health.

Otuaro, who expressed hope that the specialty tackled by Dr. Omo-Aghoja would meet the needs of medical practice said "knowledge not adding value to society is only worth committing to flames".

He said the need for value-adding knowledge informed the state government's rejiging of Delta State's educational system to emphasize technical education and other areas of need.

"We'll continue to encourage resourcefulness because the growth of our society is inextricably interwoven with resource materials put together by you resource persons of no mean repute", Otuaro said.

Earlier, the book's author, Dr. Omo-Aghoja thanked Otuaro for his support way up to the production of the book. He informed that the book was the first complete work on the sub-specialty in the tropics and was put together to meet training needs ooh the area.

The public presentation/launching, Dr. Omo-Aghoja said, was necessary to add to the possible heightened rating of the Universities where the work/author stemmed from.
