Netherland base HNDC, BEN TV appraise Amnesty program, host Kuku

A Nigerian-Netherlands based organization, Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) is set to appraise the success of the Nigeria Federal Government Amnesty Programme for its repentant militants in the oil-rich but strife torn Niger Delta region.

The role played by the international community in ensuring the success of the programme would also be review at the event.

The Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Federal Government Amnesty Programme, Hon Kingsley Kuku is expected to grace the occasion billed for The Hague, The Netherlands and the European Union Headquarters’ in Brussels, Belgium.

The international conference with the title “Success and Challenges of Nigeria Government Amnesty Program; Role of International Community” will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in The Hague.

The Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta, Kuku is expected to meet with senior Dutch government officials, representatives of civil society groups, corporate institutions, experts/consultants as well as take a tour of strategic places of interest during the visit.

The program would commence on Monday 19th September 2011 and end on Friday 23rd September 2011.

A statement yesterday by the President/Founder of HNDC, Comrade Sunny Ofehe said that Kuku is also expected to meet with senior European Union officials at the EU Parliament, the EU Commission and the EU Council in Brussels at the European Union Headquarters, Belgium.

He said that the conference is as part of HNDC’s determination to ensure the success of the ongoing Amnesty Program by the Nigeria government.

Ofehe said that HNDC is organizing the conference and hosting Kuku in collaboration with BEN television UK.

He said that Kuku would during the visit address the Press Corp and take questions relating to the Amnesty program in the Niger Delta region.

“The HNDC is confident that such an international engagement has become inevitable in the face of the mounting challenges of the program on the Nigeria government and the need to involve the international community inter alia the European Union in supporting the program”, he added.
